Saturday, May 25th is National Wine Day! We are celebrating with a COMPLIMENTARY staff recommended “Featured Favorite” wine and pairing bite!

Guests visiting the winery this day can enjoy a complimentary sample of our Antiquity 2020 Mavrud paired with a Fig and Blue Cheese Bruschetta bite. While supplies last. This specialty “Featured Favorite” pairing is recommended by staff member, Kimen Wheeler!

Recently unearthed 7,000 year old pottery vessels revealed the distinctive large Mavrud grape leaf tying this wine to the Thracian era in Bulgaria.  It is believed to have been the major wine of the region and would have been enjoyed by Homer, Spartacus, Alexander the Great and St. Paul during their travels through the Danube River Valley.

We invite you to taste this unique wine we have carefully selected and curated from a region where winemaking dates back over 7,000 years in history!

The word Mavrud comes from the Greek work “mavro”, meaning black. This wine shows color characteristics of deep purple hues to black. Inhale aromas of spicy pepper and chocolate; taste a tangle of red and black fruits, spice, rich tannins, licorice.
