Inspired by the legendary wines of Ancient Thrace, Wines of the Odyssey invites you on a guided journey through Bernhardt Winery’s Antiquity Collection—where ancient traditions, rare varietals, and exceptional craftsmanship come together in every glass.

Long before modern vineyards covered the world, the ancient region of Thrace was celebrated for producing extraordinary wines. Revered throughout antiquity, its vineyards were woven into mythology, commerce, and some of history’s greatest stories—including Homer’s Odyssey.

Hosted by Bernhardt Winery owner and winemaker Jerry Bernhardt, this intimate afternoon will offer a personal look into the inspiration behind the Antiquity Collection. Jerry will share photographs, stories, and discoveries from his recent journey to Bulgaria, including his visit to the Aristotle Academy, bringing the history and culture of Ancient Thrace to life through his firsthand experience.

Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of the Antiquity Collection, featuring Mavrud from Bulgaria and Limniona from Greece—two historic varietals whose roots trace back to the ancient world—alongside carefully selected library vintages rarely available to the public.
